J Greenwood Builders were directly appointed via our framework agreement with Manchester City Council to design and construct a replacement trackside modular changing room block. The existing changing room facility had long since served its purpose for the multiple users and stakeholders who used the facilities at the sports running track and indeed visitors of the wider park facilities.
In preparation for the new modular building, we had commenced the demolition of the original building and constructed the foundations for the new facility. Service and drainage diversions were undertaken and a new electrical supply was established for the larger building. After some 16 weeks of factory production, the building was ready to be transported to the park and we were then able to take delivery and begin the installation.
Wythenshawe Park Athletics Track is a much loved and heavily used community space that was in great need of an up to date, accessible changing unit. The site has numerous stakeholders who were involved right from the start of the process; I was really impressed with the way that J Greenwood Builders worked with everybody involved, enabling community decision making wherever possible. On site, the team were flexible to the changing demands of the groups using the facility; professional and friendly when dealing with members of the public and responsive to any last-minute challenges. Communication with the team was simple and straight forward and we couldn't be more pleased with the result!
