The project consisted of the complete rewiring of the 1960’s Mauldeth Road Primary School building on behalf of our client, Manchester City Council. Internally we undertook the new installation of power, lighting, fire alarms, data and emergency lighting. Externally, we installed new lighting to the building facade together with new emergency lighting whilst also providing new perimeter security lighting to the external environment to provide way finding and security lighting.

As part of the works, we installed new plasterboard ceilings and decoration to all classrooms and introduced suspended ceilings to certain rooms to aid the introduction of our new wire ways and design routing.
The scope of works could've potentially caused significant impact to the school teaching, so we devised a programme of works commencing at night to ensure the works were completed. This programme started at nights during the month of July, then we switched to working during the day whilst the school held their 6-week summer holiday and when the school commenced their new September term, we converted back to a night programme of work. This flexibility of programme and co-ordination between all parties ensured the school remained fully operational with no impact on teaching.
