Our client's, The Knowsley Estate Trust, brief was to improve the visitor experience to this particular sector of the park. As part of the programme, the design was to enhance the food, beverage and welfare provisions to make it a more enjoyable and relaxing experience.

The works created a space for seating large numbers of visitors to enjoy their own sandwiches, or the refreshments for sale from the park kiosks. We created space for covered seating zones to protect visitors from inclement weather. We designed new W.C and change facilities for members of the public with easy access and one-way routes to avoid congestion, together with new medical room with hoist provision for any special need or medical requirement.
As part of the visitor experience, new low level glazed viewing zones were created to help improve visibility of the animals within this section of the park.
