The new car park and entrance highway improvement project was part of a larger educational construction project situated a few hundred metres away from the park for our client, Stockport Council. The intention being, in this congested part of Marple, the new car parking provision would be a useable space for the parents to use during the busy drop off and collection from school periods.

The works consisted of the front entrance and car park remodelling, off Brabyns Brow, which included newly constructed stone retaining walls, ramps and steps to provide appropriate access from different levels within the park. New lighting and security fencing surrounding the newly constructed access road and parking provision was also installed to provide additional safety measures for the public. New surface water drainage and attenuation systems were constructed to remove the original and outdated network.
New directional and information signage was installed to notify members of the public of park information. To finish the works, a mix of soft landscaping with tree, shrubs and plants were installed to soften the finish of the hard landscape structures.
